Woodbadge - Long Island
Wood Badge Leadership Training is the advanced leadership training course for all adult Scouting Leaders. Whether you are involved in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing, District or Council activities, this course will provide you with skills you can use in your Scouting position, as well as in other aspects of your life.
Wood Badge is Scouting’s most advanced training in leadership development. This contemporary training program focuses on leadership, teambuilding, and “people” skills, and not Scoutcraft or outdoor skills. Participants learn techniques to make them better leaders, and also how to lead groups to achieve objectives.
Wood Badge brings together adult leaders from all areas of Scouting - Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, and Venturing – as well as District and Council leaders and BSA professional staff. Reflecting the best of nearly a century of Scouting experience, Wood Badge also draws upon the most current leadership models being used by corporate America, academic circles, and successful outdoor leadership organizations throughout the country. It teaches skills that are useful in Scouting, work, family, and other community service activities.
In addition to all the opportunities for learning at a Wood Badge Leadership Training course, participants will find a tremendous amount of fellowship, a keen sense of accomplishment, and plenty of fun.
